Continuing on from my previous post, here is my second of three installments that I will be donating to my alma mater, Campbell University College of Pharmacy in helping to raise money for students of the college. Here is a 12 x 12 still life of some Apothecary items, 2 mortar and pestles, and a Arabic Gum Rx jar. I worked from my own items, but decided in the end to eliminate the label on the jar. Getting the correct perspective is imperative as ellipses of the mortar and pestles are not forgiving if they are done incorrectly. So the underpainting is very important. Getting all the times in the correct position in how it is visually seen must be completed in this stage so that when it is overpainting it all makes sense.
