Shades of Gray...In New York City!

There is no place like New York City!

While I could never live there, it does have an appeal of excitement. For this painting I tried a monomatic color scheme this time (using only one color but with multiple shades). Gray is obviously the main theme of this painting. Gray is not a color on the color wheel; however, with color theory it is made from a mixture of equal parts of all three primary colors (red, yellow, and blue). I used a little white to give the gray  some value.

This isn’t my typical type of subject matter that I do, but was practicing a cityscape on this one. I thought I would take a stab at it from my imagination.

Enjoy!
