A Portrait of a Girl

Had some time this morning to explore some new techniques I have been learning. I still like to paint loose but can this looseness be tightened to the point that gives the impression of realism? We will have to see. I think it is fun to continue to explore and grow in challenging myself. I plan to work on this for a long time to get it just right. Stay Tuned...

Before I started the painting, I did a quick charcoal sketch of my composition to see if it worked. While I need to work on my charcoal skills, I believe it translated well to the canvas.

Canvas Size: 24 x 18 in.

Background color: UB + BU + AC + touch of TW = rich gray

Underpainting: BU + touch of Cad Red
